Repeated apnea-induced contraction of the spleen does not enhance performance in a subsequent time-trial

It is known that the spleen contracts due to apnea. In the Spleen erythrocytes are stored, and it has been shown that splenic contraction induced by repeated apneas  increases oxygen availability. In theory, this may lead to a better performance. However, in practice this could not been certified in a subsequent cycle time trial. Read more about the Study here!
